Adam male and female?


Gen 1:26-28 - And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

In Genesis 1:26-28 we see a brief overview describing the creation of the first man and woman who were the parents of mankind.

God announces His plan that mankind (the first "them" in v26) have dominion over all the earth.

In manifesting this plan, first God creates man (Adam) -- "created He him" -- in His own image, emphasizing that God created man first and the man was in God's image.


Then scripture reveals that the plural "male and female created He them" emphasizes that God created the male and the female as individuals.
God first created the "him", female did not exists until the "him" (single individual) became a "them" (two individuals).

Genesis chapter 2 expands on the introductory summary of day six in chapter 1.

In verse 2:7 we see a more detailed account of how God created man:


Genesis 2:7 - And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Later in Genesis 2:21-24 we see a more detailed account of how the first woman, Eve, was created


Genesis 2:21-24 - And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.  And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh

The rib taken out of Man (Adam) consisted of bone and flesh and was used to make the first woman, Eve.  

Notice there is no indication or allusion to taking out a "feminine" nature or anything of the sort out of Adam -- unless you read into it from a source outside scripture...


God is not the author of confusion
There is a false teaching floating around that God first created Adam as both male and female.   Many people "parrot" and repeat this teaching because they do not know the Word of God and think it sounds very intellectual.

Consider that since Adam was created in God's image (Gen 1:27), then if Adam was a mixture of male/female it would mean that God was both male and female.

Jesus was the fulness of God (Col 1:19) and the second Adam (1 Cor 15:47).  Does this mean that Jesus was both male and female too?

According to God's own law (Deut 22:5), if Adam were a confusion of male and female he would be an abomination.

This confusion does not come from the Bible.  Instead it has to be "read into" the bible from an outside source...

The heresy of God having both a masculine and feminine nature comes from Jewish mysticism known as the "tradition" or Kabbalah  (note this is mystical kabbalah which differs from Judaism that follows the Tanakh).

In Kabbalah this gender confusion is known as the "divine feminine" and various other terms.

This is not how God has revealed Himself in scripture.  When we add to or take away from God's nature as He has revealed Himself, we create our own false god and idol out of our vain imaginations.

The false "gods" of these pagan religions often have both male and female parts.  If you look up "baphomet" you will see a depiction of this false god which is an abominable mixture of male/female, animal/mankind/angelic, mammal/reptile/bird/fish (Deut 4:16-18).

There is no Biblical support for this false doctrine.  One has to wrest the scriptures in Genesis to try and suggest any kind of legitimacy.  There are no supporting witnesses in the rest of scripture.  There is no dependency relationship with other biblical doctrines.

This teaching is in contradiction to other very clear scriptures.  This teaching also disparages, blasphemes, and confuses the nature of both God and Jesus in contradiction to how He has revealed Himself in scripture.

The teaching that Adam was created as male and female is not from the Bible.  It comes from the traditions of men.

Matt 15:3 - But he [Jesus] answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Notes: 
- it can be said that the genetic information for all of mankind (both male and female) was in Adam
- the focus of this article is that there is no support for Adam being both masculine and feminine either in nature, gender, sexuality, etc...
- God is Spirit and not flesh and bone (Luke 24:39) if gender is solely an attribute of the flesh, then perhaps it could be said gender does not apply to God -- however, God has represented Himself in scripture as masculine in nature, presents Himself as Father and with masculine pronouns so to try and represent Him any other way is creating a false god
- when the Word took on flesh and bone, He, Jesus, took on the male gender and was the Son of God
- the role and importance of women is supported throughout scripture and is in no way diminished -- to the contrary the significance of the woman is magnified by a proper understanding of Genesis 1 and 2

doctrine

For something to be established as a doctrine it must be affirmed by:

1. Support of at least 2 to 3 clear scriptural witnesses (cannot "wrest" or twist the scriptures to try and conjure up a witness)

2. Being in harmony with all other scripture (not contradict any other scripture)

3. Being essential to and dependent on other scriptural doctrines

4. Glorifies God

Eph 6:18 - Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Jude 1:20 - But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing

Isaiah 10:27 - And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

The Title "God" in Arabic

There is much confusion going about where people are being taught that the term "Allah" just refers to "God" in another language the same as Dios in Spanish, Gott in German, etc...

This misinformation is promoted by those ecumenists who want to syncretize religions with Islam or by Islamists who want to worm their way into positions of influence over others.

Moon worship has been practiced in Arabia since 2000 BC. The crescent moon is the most common symbol of this pagan moon worship as far back as 2000 BC.
In Mecca, there was a god named Hubal who was Lord of the Kabah.
This Hubal was a moon god.
One Muslim apologist confessed that the idol of moon god Hubal was placed upon the roof of the Kaba about 400 years before Muhammad. This may in fact be the origin of why the crescent moon is on top of every minaret at the Kaba today and the central symbol of Islam atop of every mosque throughout the world:

About four hundred years before the birth of Muhammad one Amr bin Lahyo ... a descendant of Qahtan and king of Hijaz, had put an idol called Hubal on the roof of the Kaba. This was one of the chief deities of the Quraish before Islam. (Muhammad The Holy Prophet, Hafiz Ghulam Sarwar (Pakistan), p 18-19, Muslim)

The moon god was also referred to as "al-ilah". This is not a proper name of a single specific god, but a generic reference meaning "the god". Each local pagan Arab tribe would refer to their own local tribal pagan god as "al-ilah".
"al-ilah" was later shortened to Allah before Muhammad began promoting his new religion in 610 AD.
There is evidence that Hubal was referred to as "Allah".
When Muhammad came along, he dropped all references to the name "Hubal" but retained the generic "Allah".
Muhammad retained almost all the pagan rituals of the Arabs at the Kaba and redefined them in monotheistic terms.
Regardless of the specifics of the facts, it is clear that Islam is derived from paganism that once worshiped a moon-god.
Although Islam is today a monotheist religion, its roots are in polytheistic paganism.

How to Study the Bible

Studying the Bible

- Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. – 2 Timothy 2:15

God's word is so simple to understand, you have to have help to misunderstand it…

- But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty - 1 Corinthians 1:27

- But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ - 2 Corinthians 11:3

Spiritually discerned

Test all things with scripture

Do not add to or take away

Scriptural Authority


To consider:  If we are to be held accountable to a standard, it is imperative that we have that standard available to test against.

1. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and the revealed nature and will of God. The Bible is empowered by God, infallible and authoritative.  The books of the Bible are the written Word of God. The Bible is divinely inspired and inerrant throughout.  It is the supreme authority in everything it teaches. Its authority is not limited to spiritual, religious, or redemptive themes but includes its assertions in such fields as history and science.  God has preserved His Word through the ages.

stumbles

In a chance conversation, an individual was beating themselves up about their not living up to their expectations in their walk with the Lord.

A bit of this is healthy. Humility and regular self examination is a good thing to make sure you are still on the right path. It is good to read 1st John and give yourself a spiritual check-up every now and again.

However, extreme guilt and punishing yourself to the point that you are not able to function is not a good thing.

Do you think you are something so special that you can somehow be perfect? Your in the same boat with everyone else on this. There was only one perfect man, and that was Jesus.

Imperfection is not an excuse, we need to repent of sin and do everything we can to follow Jesus and lead a holiness lifestyle.

At the same time, we can't let our stumbles and failings keep us from the work that God has for us.

When a believer stumbles and falls in the mud, the believer gets back up and rushes to get clean as quickly as possible.   Unbelievers fall in the mud and wallow in it.

For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief Proverbs 24:16

pretend or lie

The difference between acting or pretending and lying...

When you are acting in a play or pretending, everyone knows you are acting or pretending.

It becomes a lie when you are deliberately trying to fool someone or even yourself

People need the Gospel, NOT the Government

We need to keep in mind that what people need is the Gospel, NOT the Government.

If we do not govern ourselves, then society demands that some govern for us.  Laws don't exist because of good people, laws exists because of people who do not govern themselves.

The only role of Government is to protect life, liberty, and property

Keep in mind, that a Government that has the power to legislate your morality today, has the power to legislate someone else's morality tomorrow.

For example, our legislature has passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which allows for American citizens to be arrested on suspicion of terrorism and held indefinitely.

 Because our Government can define and redefine what a terrorist is, it is simple enough for them to come along and add to the definition: "Christian Fundamentalist"

If My Kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight...

Throughout history, governments have used religion as a tool to motivate people to fight for them.

So many wars have been "holy wars"

Jesus said His kingdom was not of this world.

I've even heard people say that "God is on our side".

Baloney, the question we need to ask is, "Are we on God's side?"

MERCY - Not getting what you deserve. We have all sinned, we all DESERVE death and hell.

GRACE - Getting what you do not deserve. When we repent and put our trust in God and His word, then we are blessed by God and receive what we do not deserve.

LOVE - putting others ahead of yourself, self-less-ness, no greater love than to lay down your life for another

HATE - the opposite of LOVE is self-ish-ness, hate can be a component of love: love God, hate sin.


Signs and Wonders

While signs and wonders were part of the fulfillment of scripture to validate the identity of the messiah.

Notice that after Jesus, signs and wonders followed them that believed and were a confirmation of the Apostles preaching

While God still works miracles through the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus said that a wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign.

In the future, the anti-christ will use lying signs and wonders to draw people away to hear a false gospel.

Godhead

In both the old and new testaments, a good principle to follow is that when the title "God" is used, it refers to the Godhead working together in unison. Other instances, either by the words used or by the context, you can see where a distinction of the Father, Son, or Holy Spirit at work.

When we come before God, it must be on His terms. He is the Creator of everything. He is Holy, Righteous, Good.

All the time I hear, "Well, I just can't believe in a 'god' that would do such and such". When people hear things in the Bible that demonstrate God's Holy judgement, they balk. They think that their limited human judgement is superior to God's all-knowing, all-seeing judgement.

Instead of seeking to understand what God was doing in a particular instance, they instead create a god of their own imagination. This imaginary god that they are comfortable with does things they way the person thinks they should. This false image of their own creation is what they worship and thereby have violated the first two commandments.

We should focus on what God has told us to do, instead of trying to see what we can get away with.

Burden is light

God is not the author of confusion, we should be single-minded.

Key is to focus on what God has told us to do, not what we can get away with

Little g's (Part 2 of 2)

Having covered the danger's of falling into the trap of believing we can be gods ourselves, let's see what the one true living God has to say about us legitimately exercising the power He has delegated to us.

The best way I can simplify this to a point that I can understand it myself is to look at a simplified model of authority in the military. Basically, a unit commander has full authority over everything that happens in his unit. The commander has delegated certain authorities that pertain to administration and management to several supervisors at various levels within the unit. These supervisor can only legally act with the authority they have been delegated. The "power" they wield is not theirs, it is the commander's. Also, just because they can exercise some of the (delegated) authority of the commander, that doesn't make them the commander. Also, it is possible they can abuse this authority and have the authority taken away from them.

We are not God and we do not become gods.

We become adopted children, grafted into the family of God through Jesus.

Similar to if our family adopted a child... That child would be loved and cared for as a member of the family, share in inheritance, and perhaps could even take on our surname. However, the adopted child would still not be a genetic family member, even though treated as such in every way.

Right there in the garden of eden, he told Adam and Eve that they could be "as gods" by eating the forbidden fruit. This same temptation has been continuously used throughout history as Satan appeals to the "pride of life" that is resident in the fallen nature (or the flesh) of every son of Adam.

Attitude in giving

Give expecting nothing in return, but considering nothing as lost.

Attitude in giving is important:
1) give cheerfully and joyfully
2) expect nothing in return from the person or organization that you give to
3) do not give in order to get
4) while you don't give with motivation of "getting", but can give with the understanding and hope of God's promised rewards


when you start praying for someone, they suddenly start acting worse. this is not because your prayer isn't working, it is because it is working -- God is dealing with that person and they are acting worse because they are resisting God.

corner stone or capstone?

King James Bible — Matthew 21:42, “Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?”


The corner stone sets the standard for direction is what all other stones measured from and aligned to.


On the other hand, the capstone is the anti-christ who exalts himself above all others...

Flee temptation


There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13


Like Joseph we should flee temptation.  All too often folks stop at the semi-colon and don't continue on.  If you stop at the "ye are able" you are left with the idea that you have the ability to resist temptation by yourself.  Continuing on, we find that we are only able to bear (or resist) temptation by using the escape route that GOD provides.

And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out. Genesis 39:12

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18

Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. 1 Corinthians 10:14

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 1 Timothy 6:11

All too often we are told to resist temptation and flee from the devil.   It is the other way around, we should flee from temptation, but resist the devil -- when we resist the devil it is he that will flee.

vain deceit

More and more, eastern mysticism (ie: Hindusim, Yoga, Kundalini, etc) have been working their way into western culture, and is now found even in the Christian church


 Be on the lookout for the various westernized versions of these teachings.  It is a common thing to find teaching on the 7 main chakras in everything from health food, holistic practitioners, spiritualists, and so on.

Signs of these teachings include 7 points of "energy" going from the bottom to the crown, and these points are often associated with the 7 colors of the rainbow.




The pattern to look for is a progression from the "root" or bottom chakra with the goal of "awakening" these points of energy points and achieving increasing "enlightenment".


Some traditions such as kundalini believe there is a serpent spirit or pair of serpent spirits coiled about the spine that must be awakened.

Many who practice this believe that when the 6th chackra is linked to the pineal gland, or third-eye.  When this chakra is activiated the practitioner has merged two sides and comes in contact with a spirit guide.

Additionally, the 7th chakra is the "crown" chakra, a death of self and "pure consciousness".  It is symbolized by a multicolored lotus flower - which is another common signal of practitioners.  The seated position for meditation mimicks the side view of the lotus.









Any teachings, logos, products, etc that includes these patterns is likely influences by eastern mysticism.

universal fatherhood?

This blows away the false newage concept of the "universal fatherhood" of God, meaning that God is everyone's father.   To the contrary, we are all born into sin and only those who are reborn and become "sons of God" can call God our Father which art in heaven.

emotional manipulation

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. Colossians 3:21

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

Correction of children is a good thing.  A child may not like correction, and they may even get angry when corrected, but this is not talking about this kind of anger.

However, emotionally manipulating children to get them to do something or change behavior does not accomplish intended results.  Moreover, instead of training a child in the right way to go, it discourages the child from desiring to doing the right thing.

Emotional manipulation includes snarky comments, put-downs, name-calling, demeaning, humiliation, yelling/screaming, profanity, provocation, guilt, pleading, threatening, etc...

Children should feel conviction to do the right thing, and sorry/contrite for having done wrong - but not chided and have excessive guilt pushed on them.

Children should be embarrassed by their behavior, but not publicly humiliated and demeaned.

Children should be advised of consequences, but not screamed at with emotional threats that are never carried out.

As adults, we have to face consequences for our mistakes and bad behavior.

While parents should "buffer" consequences for children so that they are not permanently scarred, children should still experience consequences for bad behavior so that they learn this principal in a safe way.   If they fail to learn the lessons while they have their parents as a covering, they stand to learn the lesson in a costlier way later on, even costing their life or the life of another.

Firm follow through on consequences is the nurturing response.

It actually makes children feel secure when children know their boundaries and know that their parents follow through in a measured controlled response without the unpredictability of emotional chaos and moving targets.

Not following through "rewards" and reinforces the bad behavior.

Children do not have to be taught bad behavior.  They are born with it.

Children have to be trained in good behavior.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Prov 22:6

Training involves consistency and repetition.   At first training may involve continual oversight and follow up, then eventually as the good behavior becomes a habit you can back off and trust them more and more.

Trust before training leads to disaster.   Train first, then trust.

Cain is a picture of what happens to Israel and the Jews.   As Cain's sin was murdering Abel, the Jew's sin was murdering Jesus.  God will deal with their rejection and sin by scattering them and them coming under persecution, but they are still marked and woe to those who touch them.

leadership

Leadership is not about control.

Jesus said that if you wanted to be the greatest in His kingdom, you must be servant of all.

Fathers and husbands should not go on an ego trip saying things like "I'm your provider".  When they do that, they are putting themselves in the place of God.

That which is perfect (Jesus) is when we shall see HIM face to face...   at THAT time prophecies, tongues, and knowledge will cease, what will endure will be faith, hope, and love.

Despite some meager "assurances" that ministers and chaplains might be excused for not participating in sodomite ceremonies (for now...  pentagon is already being urged to boot chaplains), judges and government employees have no such protection.

Bakers and other wedding services were just a warm up.  Now any judges, clerks, or government employees with any moral character will be targeted.

There will now be no one left serving in a public capacity who is not compromised, corrupted, or outright antagonistic.

Also, polygamypedophilia, and every other imaginable perversion is pushing for legitimacy.

preached unto the spirits in prison

Genesis chapter 40: Joseph went to prison and to the Cup Bearer he gave good news that he would go on to serve the King, and the Baker he revealed that he would be sentenced to death

Confessions

Fear - I'm not given a spirit of fear, God has given me a Spirit of POWER, LOVE, and a SOUND MIND (2Tim 1:7)

Condemnation - there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. I am a new creation in Jesus and old things have passed away.  (Rom 8:1; 2Cor 5:17)

Not good enough - I don't have to be good enough, JESUS was good enough for me!   I am now the righteousness of God in JESUS! (2Cor 5:21; 1Cor 1:30; Phil 3:9)

Failure - I can do ALL things through JESUS who STRENGTHENS me (Phil 4:13)

Under attack - GREATER is JESUS in ME than the enemy that is in the world, the same Holy Spirit that raised JESUS from the dead now DWELLS IN ME.  I resist the devil and he MUST FLEE, he has no choice but to OBEY GOD's WORD IN JESUS's NAME!  (1John 4:4; Rom 8:11; James 4:7; James 2:19; Phil 2:9-11)

Lies - the TRUTH is a weapon mighty to the pulling down the strongholds of lies and vain imaginations (2Cor 10:4-5)

Weak - I wait upon the LORD, my strength is renewed, I will mount up with wings as eagles; I will run, and not be weary; and I will walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:31)

Confusion - God is NOT the author of confusion, God has given me a SOUND MIND.  JESUS is renewing my mind.  He gives me peace that passes all understanding. I have the MIND of CHRIST and the HOLY SPIRIT leads me into ALL TRUTH (1Cor 14:33; 2Tim 1:7; Rom 12:2; Phil 4:7; 1Cor 2:16; John 16:13)

Alone - I am never alone, JESUS will never leave me nor forsake me!  Jesus has begun a good work in me and He will complete it! (Heb 13:5; Phil 1:6)
