Mr. Know-It-All

Pro 14:6 A scorner seeks wisdom, and it is not found, but knowledge is easy to him who understands.

"him who understands" is translated "open minded" in other translations. I prefer "teachable", otherwise the scorner is a "know-it-all" and refuses wisdom even when it is right under his nose.

Experience keeps a very dear school, but fools will learn in no other.

Thank God for a spirit of humility that can say, "Maybe I am not so superior that I cannot possibly be taught, especially by so-and-so."

I've heard it said, "Well, I admit I'm not always right, but" and then they qualify themselves to be right whenever they might need to be, just in case.

I have never seen humility come before a fall.
